In October 2008, before the presidential election, the Director of Hawaii's Department of Health, Dr. Chimoye Fukino, went to personally inspect Obama's original birth certificate.
Fukino said she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, had personally verified that the Hawaii health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.
"Therefore, I as Director for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures," Fukino said.
Fukino said that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama's certificate be handled differently from any other.
In addition, an announcement appeared in the Honolulu Advertiser on August 13, 1961 announcing the birth to Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama on August 4, 1961 of Barack Obama, Jr.
But, hey, what are facts to the "Faith-Based" Republican Flat-Earth Society?
Now they have even taken to posting fake copies of Obama's Hawaiian Birth Certificate on the Internet with "Place of Birth" changed from "Honolulu" to "Mumbasa, Kenya". No wonder Republicans have totally lost the trust of the American people.

Why fight and spend money to prevent release of a document which establishes your eligibility? Isn't such action against one's best interests?
If the certificate that was posted on some websites last summer was genuine, why was the certificate number blacked out?

---B'zzzzt. FALSE
The name at his birth would have been SOETORO, and his given name was BARRY....hence it would have had to announce "Barry Soetoro" as the name. Which he only subsequently had changed, by both adoption and then his motion to change his proname.
