Today's New Tea Parties
Now, America's Wealthiest are organizing new "Boston Tea Parties" to protest the modest tax increases the Obama administration is enacting on people in the top brackets. How patriotic they are. Talk about Class Warfare. They have enjoyed substantial tax decreases during the past eight Bush years while young men from poorer families signed up in our "Volunteer Army" two fight in two distant wars on our country's behalf. What sacrifices these Tea Party Protesters are being called upon to make. It's as though Confederate slave owners during the Civil War had organized "Tea Parties" to protest the Emancipation Proclamation and the freeing of their slaves. Of course, some of those Southern ex-slave owners did end up in destitution and poverty as a result of losing their slaves. However, it's highly unlikely that the modest tax increases Obama is implementing will inflict that level of pain on today's privileged elite.

It's nice to imagine that these tax increases will only hit people like Paris Hilton and Donny Trump in the pocket, but thats just not true. It will be the middle and lower class folks who get the short end of this stupid tax increase. The vast majority of people affected by these tax increases will be business owners... people who are employing other people, and providing jobs and healthcare benefits to them.
If this were truly about getting people who earn more to pay their share, it would only target the 'super rich'. But, that's not what's happening, is it?
