The "Conscience" of a Conservative

Conservatives say they believe: "Everyone should work hard and be taxed equally."

Does this mean that Conservatives believe in an "equal" flat 10% income tax for everyone, regardless of income -- and no estate taxes on anyone?

What a huge disproportionate redistribution of wealth to the richest Americans such a tax system would create.

We had that in the 19th century, and I don't think anyone (except Rush Limbaugh) wants to see us return to that kind of Gilded Age/Robber Baron/Mass Destitution economy.

Rush is a True Patriot. Those Tax Tea Parties were held for Rush's benefit. He should have been hosting them all. The Tea Parties should have been called "Rent Parties --for Rush Limbaugh."

How is a 10% tax on everyone a redistribution of wealth. If you EARN money then you get to keep 90% of everything you EARN. If you dont earn very much then you dont pay very much in taxes.
Obama wants to tax the hell out of wealthy people and take away the majority of their money.
Why do you feel that your entitled to take someone elses money?
If someone wants to work 100hrs a week and earn alot of money then dont they deserve to keep it? Instead you give a tax break to someone working only 10hrs a week. Is that your idea of fair?

The people working 100 hours a week are the ones who are earning $6.00 an hour -- and are trying to make ends meet. The ones working 10 hours a week are living off their investment income and their inheritances, and are clipping coupons. You have your numbers reversed.

How do you think the wealthy became wealthy? I believe they started a buisness, worked really hard, invested everything they had and finally it began to pay off. Now that they can cut back their hours, you want to punish them for all their hard work. Did you know that 70% of millionaires are first generation rich?
Then you have someone else who doesnt want to work really hard or take the risk of starting their own buisness and reward them with tax cuts.
The wealthy became wealthy by working hard and saving their money. Once they have saved some money they then turn it into an investment which creates even more money for them, but not without some risk of loosing it. So why cant anyone get out of debt and start investing some money? The problem is most people are happy with taxing the rich and spending every dollar they make, rather than saving any of it.
Who do you know that works 100hrs/wk. for $6.00/hr? If you have that kind of drive you will try to find something that pays alot more.

The tax laws should not favor the rich continually growing richer and everyone else getting constantly poorer. That's the Conservative Right-Wing philosophy, championed by Rush Limbaugh and his ilk. That's why the Republican Party is disappearing before our eyes, like the smile of the Cheshire Cat.

So what would you like to see in tax law? Tax the wealthy and give to the poor so everyone is equal? Why would you work harder than anyone else?
How EXACTLY does tax law favor the wealthy?
They pay 40% federal tax and someone in poverty pays nothing.

Democrats do not believe in equality, they laugh at equality unless it comes to misery. WHen you hear the saying, misery loves company, they are talking about democrats. Democrats are the most generous people with money, but never their own money. Democrats don't want anyone to be above middle class and in fact probably nothing more than lower class. They find most people listen to them and depend on them more when they are poor. Democrats moto should be "Tax'em till they're Poor." Democrats love your money and will happily take it away however they can. They don't know how to work or how to earn money. Someone shoudl teach the Democrats how to work and how to vote.

Anonymous, we had eight years of Peace and Prosperity, and a rapidly growing economy, under Clinton. What did Dubya Bush leave us with? Ho Ho Ho! Don't make me laugh.

The economy was in recession under Clinton when Bush took over and the military was weakened as was Clintons Perogative. How is it you don't know this? The economy grew under Bush but the weight of the Liberal social housing loans to unqualified borrowers, one which Barney Franke oversaw, finally collasped. Nice going CJP, way to try and make everyone equal. When Bush Left office the stock market was higher and we were much less in debt. You should be ashamed of Obama and yourself. Shame on you

BTW Barney Frank is a reprehensible human being. Outside of being a unintelligable, fat, sodimite, he is a pedophile pimp who has a history of frequenting prostitutes and drug use. This is why Demos love him, he epitomizes the democrats. His policies are those of failure, something that Demos embrace.
