Conservative Silence

After having cued up their outrage for Obama's expected failure in trying to rescue the American ship captain from the Somali pirates, conservatives have generally been silent in the face of Obama's actual success.

Conservatives should be silent on many other matters, too. Conservative silence would be a welcome and constructive contribution by them to the national discussion on most of the important issues facing the United States today.

After 8 years of liberal spamming, such as calling the president "shitler" and accusing him of causing 9/11, i find that conservitive critism is far less destructive then liberal.

Dear Facts Over Emotion:

In an important way, Bush did cause 9-11 by being grossly inattentive to Al Quaida and Islamic Terrorism, despite being warned by Clinton and Gore that this should be his top priority. He virtually never met with Richard Clarke, his own top security advisor. He had no interest in Bin Laden or Al Quaida until after 9-11 occurred. Had he truly been on the job, and riding herd on the FBI and CIA, as Clinrton and Gore had been, there were enough clues around so that 9-11 might have been prevented. If Gore had been in the White House (being the policy wonk that he is), there is a very good chance that 9-11 would have been stopped (just as the attempt to bomb LAX on Millenium Day was thwarted a year and a half earlier, when Clinton was still in the White House). Bush was a miserable president and he well deserves all the negative criticism that is coming his way.

CJP, Bush was grossly inattentive of Al-Queda? It was Bill Clinton who turned down 2 offers by the Sudanese government to arrest and hand over both Osama bin laden and information about al-queda. I think you need to get your facts straight.

Anonymous, you are full of crap. No such offers were ever made to Bill Clinton. Read Richard Clarke's book. Clarke was America's National Security Advisor under both Bushes and Clinton, and he knows a hell of a lot more about what happened than you do.

Clinton was totally focused on Al Quaida and Bin Laden. He never had a real chance to capture or kill Bin Laden.

It was Bush who took his eye off the ball. Bush was totally obsessed with getting Saddam Hussein. He didn't even want to meet with Clarke or talk to him about Al Quaida and Bin Laden. That's why I blame Bush for allowing 9-11 to happen. Bush was guilty of gross negligence, lack of interest, and lack of attention. Now, finally, Obama has re-focused our efforts on Afghanistan and Pakistan, where the real terrorists are headquartered.

How can Republicans be so damn dumb?
