Response to Conservative Anti-Obama Arguments

Obama is not bashing the United Sates as "ignorant". He is trying to approach the rest of the world with more humility and diplomacy than Bush did, and he may achieve some good results this way. Bad guys can be turned around, as Quaddafi of Libya has been. Obama's approach may neutralize some of our other enemies, too. He's trying a different approach, and we'll have to wait and see it he has any success with it. It's the Teddy Roosevelt approach -- Carry a Big Stick But Speak Softly. It worked for Teddy, and it may work for Barack, too.

He won't be taking your guns away. That's a Nightmare Scenario thought up by Right-Wing Talk Show hosts to inflame their listeners. Although, hopefully, Obama will help state and local governments institute stronger gun control laws. There have been too many gun murders lately -- they've gone through the roof.

Universal Health Care would be a wonderful thing. Most modern countries have it. The health care we provide for so many of our citizens lags way behind Canada and most of Europe. There's no reason for the USA to be second-class in anything, especially health care.

I wouldn't say that Obama has no clue as to how to fix the economy. He has consulted many outstanding economists, and he is following their advice. Since his programs are just starting to go into effect, it's too early to know how effective they will be. But it makes sense to me that pouring lots of money into the economy now will help the economy get moving again and, when there is a recovery, these bail-out dollars can be repaid to the government. Putting people back to work right now, and solving the current foreclosure crisis are key parts of his program. I think Obama is doing what needs to be done, and that his economic policies will work.

Your anology seems to forget that Quadaffi decided to tow the line while Bush was still President. That would lead the logical mind to assertain that it was Bush's policies that converted him.
When the evil men in the world see Obama play nice with the likes of Chavez it doesnt inspire them to be better and leave their misguided beliefs behind,it actually will have the opposite effect. They will be inclined to believe that Obama doesnt disagree with their mindset and tactics. When Obama continually blames America for the worlds problems it will only make these despots feel justified in any Anti-American activities and will likely believe Obama would support such behavior.Im saying Obama will but he is sending the message that America is bad therfore possibly leading these men to think he will not hold them accountable. They would likely think its a Hate America fest.

Dear Anonymous:

You are making many assumptions which have no basis in fact. Obama is trying a different approach than Bush did. Bush's approach created many more problems than they solved. Let's see if Obama can do better. So far, Obama has had no foreign policy setbacks. Let's hope Barack can continue his winning streak.

Guns don't kill people; people kill people. Do you think criminals care about gun laws? Or, maybe while we're outlawing guns we should also outlaw knives, scissors, and baseball bats. "Gun control" is the first step toward removal of the 2nd Amendment.
