A Couple of Posted Comments on Gates-Crowley-Obama Worth Noting

1. It wasn't one of Professor Gates's neighbors that called the police; it was a woman from Malden who was passing by.

2. I don't think this Crowley was racist - just stupid. He let his ego get in the way of doing the right thing and just leaving the house after he was shown Professor Gates' ID. Some of these cops need to learn to earn respect by doing their jobs with integrity. Many are good people but some like to abuse their power. At no time was the cop in danger and he should have left Professor Gates. He is supposed to be an "Officer of the Peace" and should not have escalated this into an arrest. Obama was right again!

So, as you can see, the American people do have a lot of wisdom and common sense.

The President has absolutely no business taking a side on this local matter. None. The only correct response was to refuse comment.

Baloney! Racism is a big issue in this country. Obama was asked a direct question about the "racist" aspects of this confrontation, and he had every reason to answer it directly. He said that the Boston police acted "stupidly", not as racists, and he was right. The police could have and should have defused this situation in a much calmer manner,

This wasn't a racial issue, and neither the reporter, nor Gates, nor especially Obama, had any business making it into one.

Obama had absolutely NO business taking sides on this case. None.

Read the police report:

Obama especially had no business taking a side in this given the facts that Gates was one of Obama's longtime buddies, and Gates held fundraisers for Obama during his campaign. Obama even admitted that he was biased, before launching into the rest of his response. Totally inappropriate for him to comment on this.

That's your opinion, Anonymous. Unfortunately, most Americans disagree with you. They're glad that Obama spoke out on this subject, did not dodge the question, acted like a president and a leader, and has now caused Americans to re-think this entire issue. That's why Obama is a great president, and he has barely begun. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

LOL! Wake up and smell the coffee. Most Americans agree with me -- thus the uproar. Thus his dramatic slip from 55% to 48% in the polls.

"Acted like a president" -- Ha!, yeah, if you call completely fucking up a response that he had no business answering in the first place "presidential."
