SCOOP – N.Y. Daily News, 'President Barack Obama authorizes extended Secret Service guard for former VP Dick Cheney,' by James Gordon Meek and Thomas M. DeFrank: 'Former Vice President Dick Cheney's Secret Service protection has been extended for at least another six months, beginning Tuesday. Normally, ex-veeps only get six months of protection at taxpayer expense. But Cheney asked for an extension, and President Obama - whom Cheney has excoriated in several interviews since leaving office - recently signed off. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano signed the order extending Cheney's security detail, her spokeswoman Sara Kuban confirmed Monday. If the Obama administration hadn't gone along with Cheney's request, he would have been forced to hire his own security agents - or go without. Cheney's friends have said he has become more concerned about his privacy and personal safety in recent years.'
Apparently, Dick Cheney's popularity hasn't increased since he's been out of office.

mr. cheney not paying for his on security detail after the normal limit has expired, is just one more example of how mr. cheney's lifetime habit of bilking the american public!
I have an idea on how to extend security for cheney indefinitely. arrest the man for the war crimes committed (not to mention all the other crimes - such as consciously and purposely breaking the constitution - which by the way he has even admitted doing on television! although he framed his behavior differently). then bring him to trial - if the trial is just and uncorrupted we can be assured that he will be thrown in the pokey! given all of his high crimes and misdemeanors, mr. cheney is bound to receive many years of high security protection - grant it the security personnel won't be secret service agents, but prison guards, but hey.....
