The Progress Report Socks It To the Wacko Right-Wing

BORN IN THE USA: Obama was born on Aug. 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. This date is on the Certification of Live Birth released by the Hawaii Department of Health last year at the request of Obama. Birthers like Dobbs point to the fact that the campaign released the "short form" certification rather than the "long form" -- which is drawn up by the hospital and contains more information -- as the crux of their argument that the President is hiding something. But as FactCheck.org noted when they investigated and debunked claims about Obama's birth certificate, "the Hawaii Department of Health's birth record request form does not give the option to request a photocopy of your long-form birth certificate," and "their short form has enough information to be acceptable to the State Department." Birthers, like conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi, claim that the certificate posted by the Obama campaign was "a false, fake birth certificate," but its authenticity has been independently confirmed by FactCheck.org, which examined it in person and declared that "it is real and three-dimensional." Additionally, on Oct. 31, 2008, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii Department of Health, issued a statement saying that he had "personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures." Definitive proof of Obama's Hawaii birth has also been found in the archives of two Hawaii newspapers, the Honululu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin, which both printed birth announcements days after Obama was born in 1961. Birth announcements in those papers are placed by the state Department of Health, not the family.

The birthers are nuts, just like most of the cons. The majority of which believe in an imaginary being(s), that guides their every move, wants them to be rich, and help the poor only if they feel like it. And their favorite, dare I say only, news source is Faux News.

Right On, Anonymous! You see these Wacko Wing-Nuts for exactly what they are, a bunch of Right-Wing Loons.

Even Faux news O'lielly says that case closed, Obama was born in Hawaii. But O'lielly is a liar so what is the truth?

jc, after skimming the article above, I think anon believes Obama's birth certificate is false. Is that right anon?

Anonymous said...

Don't just skim it, read it.

MY GOD.

Anon, you are one of the nuts. We now disagree on health care and the reality of Obamas birth place.

jc Anon, the Hawaiian news papers back then show Obama was born. How do you explain that? Conspiracy?

Comon Anon, did man land on the moon, or was it faked? After all, Kennedy was involved.

Anonymous said...

Read it.

CJP said...

By the way, Anonymous, the announcement of Obama's birth in the Hawaiian newspapers back in 1961 was placed there by the Hawaii Department of Health, not by private individuals. That's one more little nail in the "birthers' " obsession.

Anonymous said...

That's addressed. Read it.

CJP, men did not really land on the moon. I can prove it with a bunch of bs sites.

And, Area 51, we know that is just packed full of aliens and spacecraft that we're picking away at to get their secrets. Go look it up on google.

Even Faux news O'lielly says case closed on the birth certificate. So is O'lielly so embarrassed by the birthers absurdity that he's not pandering to the cons on this one? You know it must be an obviously false claim as there's lots of good pandering material there.

Another good reason for an armed revolt? We're being unlawfully let by a foreigner? I hope you revolters love your privately run prisons. You'll get great care. Baaa haaa haaaa. I'll come visit you. Baaaa haaaa, haaaa, cough, cough. Damn, I have to quite laughing so hard.

Anon is so damned serious, you notice that CJP?

Read it. Study it. If you can dispute it with facts, do so. Summarily dismissing it, and going off on tangents such as the moon shot, is a total weasel cop-out.

We went to the moon in 1969.
Islamic terrorists are responsible for 9/11.
And Obama's birth certificate case smells very, very, very fishy.

Read it. If you have facts that can definitively shoot down the allegations, then give them. Simply using usual liberal tactics of trying to marginalize the accusers (who are growing in number) as "nuts" and trying to laugh them off as "birthers" (purposefully coined to equate them with 9/11 "truthers" -- who, in my experience have been mostly liberals, by the way), is a cowardly and utterly insubstantial failure of a rebuttal.

This is not a partisan political issue. This has nothing to do with Obama's race, political party, or anything else other than constitutional law. That's it. I am not out to "get" Obama. I would be bringing up this issue with anyone in office who had the same questions surrounding his/her eligibility. Anyone. Doesn't matter what party -- If you want to be President, you'd better be able to prove you are a natural-born citizen. Article II, Section I.

His signing of Executive Order 13489, on the VERY FIRST DAY of office, is very highly suspicious in and of itself. http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/pdf/e9-1712.pdf

His hiring of an army of lawyers shortly thereafter, with expenditures well over $1 million to prevent disclosure of this information, is even more suspicious. Even if he is natural-born, he still obviously doesn't want you to see something.

For me, this is a constitutional law and ONLY an issue of constitutional law, period.

I would bet anything, however, that if these types of allegations of ineligibility were to come up regarding a Republican President, and he were stonewalling the release of information, you guys would be all over it like flies on dirty diapers. Guaranteed.

Obama releases a BC1 and this issue is as dead as doornail. Until then...

You cons are all law experts. Especially constitutional law, but I digress.

I read the signing order and you can apply it to many things (like the bible). I'm not going to argue it. It's legal words and the lawyers will interpret them and argue them.

I know you all hate lawyers. That's why everything costs so much. Litigation.

You should understand the vagaries of words more than most. But alas, cons ... :-)

Anonymous said...

Yeah. You ALWAYS digress. That's what you do. That's your job. Anything to actually confront facts.

You don't need to be a law expert to understand that the office of the President requires a person to be a natural-born citizen. It's pretty damn clear on that score.

Again: Read it. (Obviously you haven't yet.) If you have facts that can definitively shoot down the allegations, then give them.

Baaaa haaaa, haaaa, cough, cough. Damn, I have to quite laughing so hard.

Your a joke Anon. This is bs.

Anonymous said...

Summarily dismissing it again, I see, with absolutely nothing else in the way of rebuttal. And you call ME the joke here?

Read it. (Obviously you haven't yet.) If you have definitive facts that can shoot this down, then give them.

Jc, what don't you get, Anon?

Anonymous said...

Uh huh. Summarily dismissing it again without reading it. What, precisely, is B.S.?

Read it. If you have any facts that definitely shoot it down as the "B.S" that you claim it is, then give them.

Until then, your words mean nothing.

Tonight on HBO, Bill Maher took on the "birther" movement because, in his words, "In America, you know what, if you don't immediately kill errant bullshit no matter how ridiculous, it can grown and thrive and eventually take over like crab grass or cirque du soleil."

"In America," Maher explained, "There is no idea so patently absurd that it can't catch on." The idea catching on here is that Obama is an undocumented alien, with no U.S. birth certificate, and his presidency is, thus, "illegal."

"Lou Dobbs said recently that people are asking a lot of questions about the birth certificate." Maher continued. "Yes. The same people that want to know where the sun goes at night. And... where to put the stamp on their email. And Lou, you're their new king"

You Cons are the King of nonsense.

CJP said...

You're so right, Reaper -- and Bill Maher. Every time these "Birther" Conservatives open their mouths they show what dumb-nuts they are, and why they should never again be allowed anywhere near the levers of power in this country. Obviously, a steady diet of Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Coulter Beck, etc. does melt down peoples' brains into molten lava.

Anonymous said...

We will just have to see how all of this ultimately pans out. It's not an obsession or anything for me, but there are quite a few holes that I would like filled.

Anonymous said...

"In America," Maher explained, "There is no idea so patently absurd that it can't catch on."

As in the idea that Bill Maher is someone who can speak with even the slightest bit of authority on this subject?
