Here's an excellent post in today's Daily Kos about a Creationist who started a Dinosaur theme park in Florida and now is serving a 10 year jail term for failing to pay $470,000 in employee taxes on the grounds that he was employed by God and, therefore, he and his ministers were not subject to paying employee taxes:
"The Bigger Picture
All too often these holier-than-thou Bible-thumping sorts turn out to be rightwing cranks, anti-government loonies, tax evaders (as we have here), racists, and republicans, though I repeat myself.
I despise creationism as a vast waste of time. We shouldn't be entertaining discussions with people: Freedom of speech is not an excuse to waste time heating the planet with useless discussions of utter bullshit. There's nothing else to say.
Do we talk of turning lead into gold anymore? (Please say no).
The rightwing has clearly demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt they are seriously delusional:
*Birther nonsense: The preposterous idea that Obama somehow is not "really" an American.
*Deather Nonsense: The Big Lie that Obama's healthcare reform requires a death contract.
*WMD's in Iraq: FOX was responsible for spreading stories WMDs were found in Iraq, when none really were
*Reefer Madness: The idea that marijuana is somehow a dangerous threat to people when such is simply not provable.
*Denial of Global Warming: Just like it sounds. They are generally anti-science and anti-education as well.
Creationism: Magical thinking, at best.
All the same thing: utter bullshit with no defensible argument, beliefs held by a minority of people who are - often - actually intelligent and educated, yet they inexplicably hold ideas that are not connected to reality.
This man got his ass stuck in jail for 10 years for working like the Devil to avoid paying taxes. He lost. Bigtime. Because he believes erroneous stuff.
Many of these numbskulls are going to find themselves running afoul of the law simply because they are so full of false beliefs, propaganda, and horseshit. They are going to wander way over the line."
