From: The Progress report -- September 28, 2009:
THE RIGHT WING'S PREDICTABLE REACTION: Conservative senators reacted to the news of Iran's secret facility in predictable fashion, echoing much of the rhetoric coming out the the Bush administration over the last eight years: "regime change." "What we're trying to do here eventually is to get a regime change with a group of people in there that are more representative of the Iranian people," Sen. John Kyl (R-AZ) said yesterday. "At a certain point, talking is counterproductive rather than productive because time is not on our side," he said, adding later that "the carrot approach does not work with these people." Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) pushed regime change yesterday too. "We have to have strong sanctions, economic sanctions that can force either a regime change or the Ayatollahs to change their policy," he said.
But it's clear now that the Bush administration's refusal to engage Iran (at least only until the waning days of Bush's tenure) and its "regime change" rhetoric served only to embolden Iran's hardliners within the country. And instead of accepting -- or even responding to -- Iran's offer of engagement in 2003, President Bush lumped the Islamic Republic into the now infamous "axis of evil." Eight years of the Bush administration's disengagement with Iran has only led to its nuclear program growing in size and scope. "The U.S. right wing accused Obama of a failure of nerve," Cole noted, "But in fact his move was shrewd and gutsy, since he predisposed Russia to increased cooperation." Jon Ward of The Washington Times writes, "Not only did the president look strong, he looked cunning."

Obama is a pretty smart guy and I like him.
Absolutely Right, Reaper. I think most Americans agree with you. But not the Pussy Posse or the Tea Baggers, of course.
I notice Obama, thinking, looking down, shaking his head slightly, and I am thinking that the guy is just trying to fathom the words to choose, to get through to everyone.
It's really hard.
He's a good guy.
Obama is one of the best presidents we have ever had. But, as Bill Clinton said yesterday, the "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy", which had trained its sights on Clinton in the 1990's, has now aimed all its guns at Obama. This time, the Right-Wing has to be smashed. We can't let them get away with all the crap they pulled on Clinton and Gore in the 90's. They are indeed "America's Real Terrorists".
"We can't let them get away with all the crap they pulled on Clinton and Gore in the 90's. "

It's really mind boggling. I still can't believe it, as it all seems so surreal, even after all these years.
Believe it. These are America's Top 1%. They are not interested in sharing anything with anyone else -- no "re-distribution of wealth", etc.
They own the entire cake, but they don't want to share even a crumb with anybody else. They will try to destroy any politician who tries to do anything for anyone who is not already in the top 1%. That's why Obama is at the top of their Hit List -- as are ACORN, the NEA, unions, and any other organization that is trying to help ordinary people.
How could Gore of lost? It seems impossible? Do you know what a different world this would be, today, if Gore had won?
Gore was spooked by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and by the fact that he was accused of "sighing" during Bush's dumb answers in their first debate.
As a result, Gore did not continue to hit back at Bush as hard as he could and should have. He was also afraid to let Bill Clinton campaign for him because of the Lewinsky scandal, another bad mistake by Gore. That's why the election was as close as it was.
If Gore had shown more fight, he would have won by a margin similar to Obama's in 2008.
That's why it's so important to fight back at these guys so hard right now, so they don't bring down Obama the way they brought down Gore.
Give them no quarter. Give them an inch, and they will take the entire country down the drain.
I remember. It's still all so surreal. Clinton with the huge budget surplus, the peace, etc, then Gore, with the prescience (the internet, global warming, etc) how could it end the way it has?
Something is really fked up.
I think its God.
If you think the Top 1% are God, then it's God. This God is called Mammon. It's the Top 1% -- with their power, their money, their Right-Wing Media Pussy Posse, and their ability to fool the Great Unwashed into voting against their own best interests. That's what keeps f'king everything up.
That's not God. But it sounds an awful lot like the other fellow -- the guy with the tail and the pitchfork.
I agree CJP, but God invented the other guy (the devil). That's all make believe.
Reality says prepare thyself.
CJP, have ye armed thyself yet? For your own protection? Just in case.
I can help you get the most bang for the buck. That is, if you are unfamiliar with the ways of the gun, let me know your circumstances, and I will try and steer you towards my guess of the best choice.

CJP makes this statement with the President not even in office for a year. I guess he is a Prophet.
To me in my opinion,George Washington and the Other founders have given me a greater gift than Mr. Obama, could ever give. The Constitution is our right and our freedom. And thanks to the way this country evolved, Mr. Obama has his rights. He may be the Best in known history. But lets let him prove it first. I want Jobs and Less spending, and low inflation. I want to be safe at home and abroad. Oh Yeah and I want Health Care. Didn't say it was going to be easy.
Obama is on the job 24/7 trying to achieve all of those things, Anonymous -- and most Americans know that.

That's a funny statement. The top 1% pay 40% of all taxes and people who don't work get an income tax refund. Fuzzy math.
The top 1% may "pay 40% of all taxes", but they also earn 90% of all the money. They seem to be woefully under-paying their taxes.
Now, that''s some real fuzzy math.
"The top 1% may "pay 40% of all taxes", but they also earn 90% of all the money. They seem to be woefully under-paying their taxes."
Simply and factually incorrect. I like a good debate but I don't appreciate using incorrect facts to help your response. US has trillions of dollars in income. Your going to say the top 1% earned 90% of that? This is exactly why the left is the left.
