Al Gore was spooked by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and by the fact that he was accused of "sighing" during Bush's bumbling answers in their first debate.
As a result, Gore did not continue to hit back at Bush as hard as he could and should have. Gore was also afraid to let Bill Clinton campaign for him because of the Lewinsky scandal, another bad mistake by Gore. That's why the election of 2000 was as close as it was.
If Gore had shown more fight, he would have won by a margin similar to Obama's in 2008.
Therefore, it is so important to fight back at these guys hard and rough right now, so they don't bring down Obama the way they brought down Gore.
Give them no quarter. Give these Right-Wing-Nuts an inch, and they will take the entire country down the drain.

CJP after sniffing around for clues I think I found out how Rush and Beck and the rest of the Cons got the radio monopolies. Back when the radio audience was small the Democratic party was asleep at the switch. All the money got put into the t.v. and newspaper media. And so the left controls ABC,NBC, and CBS and most newspapers. While that happened the right wing media people were busy buying the licenses for radio channels. At the time, listeners were few, the left thought it was a good bet. They were wrong. No Taxes going to the Cons just good old American capitalism. Nothing is wrong with one opinion dominating the public tv channels. But it is a travesty of justice for the cons to have opinions on the radio. There is no democracy in the economy. Only the few at the top of the pyramid dictate how everyone else will live. They don't care where goods are manufactured as long as it is cheap. No they cant! I dont get paid $75/hr. So when you figure the cost of shipping a part from China to the U.S. it costs about the same. From what I have been seeing, Americans do petter quality work and when Americans screw up, American customers can go straight to the shop and complain.
Also their are alot of machine operators in China, but alot fewer machinists.
Could you imagine how much more compeditive the U.S. would be if we didnt have unions or min. wage? Think about how much cheaper it would be, lower utilities, cheaper tools, cheaper materials, cheaper machines and then we could even lower taxes on companies.
BB, Google says average machinist is making 20 per hour here. I won't bother looking it up, but pretty sure I could get a Chinamen machinist for way less than that. I'm guessing 3-4 per hour over there is pretty good money. Your days are numbered BB, I would suggest start transitioning to the health care business. This is a new age BB. The RayGun days are over. Americans cannot compete with China or any other third world country, forget about the shipping. All costs are included in the price you pay for the goods.
Therefore, if The USA wants to work, they'll have to work at 3rd world wages, or perhaps get just a bit more to offset the "shipping".
Multinationals don't care to what countries they sell their products as long as they continue selling.
Most of them don't care about customer service, they sell their products anyway anywhere.
Small businesses who are surviving are the ones that still give good customer service in order to compete with the multinationals.

Cons there is some merit to the unskilled not being worth minimum wage. But without the law, in only a short time, the workers would be abused by certain unscrupulous employers.
It's my opinion that the laws and regulations are designed for the 15-20 percent that habitually abuse the system.
How about work for free and self train yourself to do something useful? I used to do it all the time learning new computer languages and skills.
