FOX News' Contributions to America

Fox News lost over $500 million -- LOST HALF A BILLION DOLLARS -- during its first 5 years of operations. Fox News was not run as a profit-making business; it was run as an ideological wedge in service of a political party.

Without Fox News, we would not have had Dubya as President. Without Fox News, we wouldn't have had Tom DeLay, Phil Gramm, Denny Hastert, Dick Cheney, John Bolton, et al, who fleeced the nation and left us with $5.5 TRILLION in Federal Debt during the Dubya years, nor would we have invaded Iraq, nor would we be bogged down in Afghanistan due to the Iraqi distraction, nor would we have allowed unregulated credit default swaps, collateralized debt obligations, mortgage backed securities with no underlying assets, and $2-4 trillion in non-performing toxic assets.

No wonder we all love FOX News.

If that's true then I wonder how much the other wannabe "news stations" have lost. That's funny.
Without Barney Frank, Chris Dodd or Barak Obama we wouldn't have had the housing meltdown. They protected Fannie and Ferdie. Chris Dodd got sweatheart mortgage deals, Barney Frank said the was nothing wrong until the end. Hell, Obama was the third highest recipient of campaign money from them. Third??? How is that possible? I didn't think he was around to be the third largest recipient of anything. It's funny how nobody puts together that things went downhill when the democrats took congress and immediately raised taxes on businesses which started the unemployment problem. Do you really think that things are going to get better when Obama spends all the money we have? Simple economics says that when you max out your credit cards, you stop spending and cut down on other things. Social programs continue to help spiral debt into oblivion.

Sorry CJP, the right is pretty delusional, and it's hard arguing with them, as reality has no meaning.

HOTR, what about cutting taxes to the rich and trickle down, does it work? Has it worked in the past?

You are so right, Ray Gun. That's why FOX is so successful. Look at the huge, brainwashed listener pool they have available to them.

Raygun, why do you think that Nancy Pelosi is trying to justify eliminating the Bush tax cuts? She wouldn't if it was just for the rich. They tax the rich proudly. She's justify it because she knows that any American that works and files taxes will have their taxes go up. All Americans not just the rich. "Tax cuts for the rich" turned out to be tax cuts for all Americans. Lower income and middle class families will all have more taxes taken from them at a time when we need it the most.

On what do you base that assertion, HOTR? It makes no sense at all.

The Bush tax cuts were for the rich, and eliminating those Bush tax cuts will not raise taxes on all Americans.

Yeah sure. The tax cuts were payroll tax cuts. If you are on a payroll you get the tax cut. We can revisit this in January. Start cutting back even more because it's coming. Thanks Pelosi.

I can only tell you that historically job levels rise when tax cuts are given. It's hard to hire extra people when the government takes the money that could have been used to give people jobs. Why do you think that unemployment is thought to be rising on the new year? Bush payroll tax cuts will sunset.
