Brewster's Statement In Response to Right-Wing MassHysteria

Here's what Brewster himself has to say about this latest Conservative Tempest in a Teapot:

"Since I was of legal consent at the time, the fifteen-minute conversation I had with Mr. Jennings twenty-one years ago is of nobody's concern but his and mine. However, since the Republican noise machine is so concerned about my "well-being" and that of America's students, they'll be relieved to know that I was not "inducted" into homosexuality, assaulted, raped, or sold into sexual slavery.

In 1988, I had taken a bus home for the weekend, and on the return trip met someone who was also gay. The next day, I had a conversation with Mr. Jennings about it. I had no sexual contact with anybody at the time, though I was entirely legally free to do so. I was a sixteen year-old going through something most of us have experienced: adolescence. I find it regrettable that the people who have the compassion and integrity to protect our nation's students are themselves in need of protection from homophobic smear attacks. Were it not for Mr. Jennings' courage and concern for my well-being at that time in my life, I doubt I'd be the proud gay man that I am today."

-Brewster

How come my good friends at MassResistance, The Washington Times, dear Sean Hannity, my pen pal Casey, etc. -- all seem to know better than Brewster what was in Brewster's own best interests?

Cons seem to know what's best for us all. They have a fetish about telling others what to do. Cons, why can't you just let people be free?

I said this before, and I will say it again, because I don't think that you are getting the point. The point is that this experience, may have turned out all warm and fuzzy for this one kid (at the time) but how might it have turned out for another kid who goes home with a perfect stranger for sex? We hear about it all of the time. People of all ages who go home with random strangers get beaten up, raped, killed, Dahmer-ized. etc.
To only advise this kid that he needs to wear a condom, and not discuss the dangers of this kind of behavior, is inept and not professional. Take the gay out of the equation (because you are the only one that is hung up on the fact the the kid was gay)I think a better idea would have been to discuss the dangers, get him hooked up into a gay youth group, and discuss the inappropriatness of the fact that the other guy was 35 years old!
No one is saying that this didn't turn out just fine in this one instance, but it just as well may not have! Why are you having a problem with this concept?
And no, RG---this is NOT a con vs liberal thing. This is a common sence thing.

Oh CJP, I find it very hard to believe that you actually believe in this guy! It is more likely that you are defending this guy only because he is an Obama appointee and you want to defend Obama! But as I said before, EVERYONE screws up, and in this case this was a screw up!

CC, it's not a big deal. You and your bible Faux News are the only ones making it a big deal.

Excuse me....Didn't Jeffery Dahmer bring young boys that he had just met home with him for sex? How about John Gayce? It happens. Never a good idea.
And since when does a 16 year old know what is "in his best interest"?
You depend on teachers and guidence counselors to have better judgement than to just advise him to wear a condom! Give me a break!
I can't believe that you guys really believe that this was okay. You are just defending him because he is an Obama appointee. Well, Obama has made some pretty bad choices and this is one of them.

More libs in action:
This is for Washington DC, a liberal city, and another one that is in the red:

More than 5,700 city employees have been given $14.9 million in bonuses since January 2007. Among the big winners:
» Michelle Rhee, schools chancellor, $41,250 in 2007

» Mary Clegg, schools superintendent executive, $25,000 in 2009

» Karen Griffin, schools special education executive, $25,000 in 2008

» Eric Stanchfield, D.C. Retirement Board, $21,997 in 2009

» Anthony Pompa, finance office executive, $21,796 in 2008

» Robin-Eve Jasper, city property manager, $18,000 from 2008-09

» Pierre Vigilance, Department of Health director, $15,000 in 2008

The bonuses were ladled out even as the city was facing nine-figure budget shortfalls and officials -- including Rhee -- were firing employees by the busload, claiming they could no longer afford them.

Why do I complain? Because Faux News brainwashes the simple minded cons. You guys need constant repetitive reinforcement, else you will snap out of your stupor. The problem with your Faux induced stupor is you vote idiots into office, like w and Palin.

Haven't you cons and your pied piper Faux News done enough damage? Do you really hate the US? Why would you want to destroy a great country?

What are you talking about??? You guys run around with blinders on. all of you spout the exact same party line. It is like you get a weekly newsletter or something that tells you what to say.

Actually we receive almost by the minute broadcasts from a thing called reality?

Are you talking about how Fox, conservatives, independants and now some liberals are trying to stop the health care reform or at least clean it up?

Your the one who needs a reality check, your going off on how the health care bills are perfect. You dont even care about the down sides, only that liberals are in control over what goes in. Pork Pork and more Pork!

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...

Oh no, pop is dead
Long live pop.
It died an ugly death,
By back catalogue.

And know you know it gets you nowhere,
And now you know you realise.

Oh no, pop is dead
It just gave up,
We raise the dead but they won't stand up.

And radio have salmonella,
And now you know you gotta die.
It left this message for us.

So what, pop is dead, it's no great loss
So many face lifts, it's face flew off.

The Emperor he has no clothes on,
And his skin is pealing off.

Oh no, pop is dead, long live pop,
One final lot of coke to jack him off...
Jack him off.. He left this message for us.

He left this message for us.
He left this message for us.

And the wise man say I don't want to hear your voice
And the thin man say I don't want to hear your voice
And they're cursing me, and they won't let me be
And there's nothing to say, and there's nothing to do.

Stop Whispering, start shouting
Stop Whispering, start shouting

And my mother say we spit on your son some more
And the buildings say we spit on your face some more
And the feeling is, that there's something wrong
'Cause I can't find the words and I can't find the songs.

Stop Whispering, start shouting
Stop Whispering, start shouting

Dear sir, I have a complaint.
Dear sir, I have a complaint.
Can't remember what it is.

Doesn't matter anyway.
Doesn't matter anyway

Stop Whispering, stop whispering
Stop Whispering, stop whispering
Start Shou.............

There's always a siren
Singing you to shipwreck
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)
Steer away from these rocks
We'd be a walking disaster
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean its there.
(theres someone on your shoulder)
(theres someone on your shoulder)
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean its there.
(theres someone on your shoulder)
(theres someone on your shoulder)
There there!

why so green and lonely?
and lonely
and lonely

heaven sent you to me
to me
