Republican So-Called "Patriots" Are Hypocrites Who Play Politics With The Lives of American Troops

Senate Democrats Block GOP Filibuster

By Paul Kane and Lori Montgomery

Friday, December 18, 2009 -- The Washington Post:

"Senate Republicans failed early Friday in their bid to filibuster a massive Pentagon bill that funds the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, an unusual move designed to delay President Obama's health-care legislation.

On a 63 to 33 vote, Democrats cleared a key hurdle that should allow them to approve the must-pass military spending bill Saturday and return to the health-care debate. After years of criticizing Democrats for not supporting the troops, just three Republicans supported the military funding.

Democrats were furious at the filibuster attempt on Pentagon funds. "They are prepared to jeopardize funding for troops at war," Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) said Thursday evening. "If Democrats did that, there would be cries of treason."

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates sent Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) a blistering letter Thursday warning of a "serious disruption" in the military's ability to pay troops. "It is inconceivable to me that such a situation would be permitted to occur with U.S. forces actively deployed in combat," Gates wrote."

The GOP -- "The Party of Nope" -- should go back to its Tea Parties and leave the waging of America's wars to the grown-ups.

Time to end the filibuster. It's not in the constitution and was a gentleman's agreement that would only be used sparingly. Obviously the day of con gentlemen is long gone.

I felt the need to share with you the story of Jason Bromby, a 28-year-old British diplomat who has gone missing in China. This is very scary. Read more about it:

Spread the word, something needs to be done.

Cons don't support the troops and are unpatriotic. If they don't support the troops then they don't love the country, then they should leave.

RayGun said...

Since the cons are leaving, and no one wants them, we should give them Texass, where they can set up their own theocratic government, and tell each other what to do.

The 'green' mayor? McGinn wants to legalize pot and tax it, too

GD, once the cons leave, and no one is around to tell us what to do, fun is going to break out like sunshine on clear summer morning. I sure would hate to live in Texass.

....."just three Republicans supported the military funding."

Cons are hellbent on Obama failing without looking at the consequences. (troops, economy etc)

These cons don't even care if America fails (they WANT that too) because that's what they want as well while Obama is in power.

Then they can say to the public at the next elections...... see Obama is a bad president because he got nothing accomplished.

They don't understand that smart people can read them cons like a book.

A2, the main problem is, our water is bad in many locations(from the wonderful business wonderkins). And people drink this bad water, then they can't think correctly as they have been chemically lobotomized. But we still allow them to vote, and they they vote for the Palins and w's and the like. I personally think there is no answer.

Erm, anonymous can't spell either. Go back to school.

Correct spelling:
Your grammar

Even a 12 year old should know the proper spelling.

You are right, Honey. However "them cons" is a basic elementary school GRAMMER lesson in the proper use of pronouns. Sometimes my spelling is off. So what? Lots of intelligent people make spelling errors---that's why we have editors, but "them cons"??? Please. That is just inexcusable!

Sorry. It is GRAMMAR. Did it again.
