The Party's Over. The Republican Party is now the true successor to the Whigs and the Federalists. All three of them now lie in the dustbin of history.

Obama was right to tell the GOP that they should stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. He understands that Limbaugh is the new head of the Republican Party. Rush wants Obama to fail. The GOP in Congress gave Obama's stimulus package not one single favorable vote. Clearly, the House GOP is listening to Limbaugh and following in lock-step with whatever he says. By all rights, Limbaugh should run for president in 2012, with Sarah Palin as his running mate. Let them go head to head against Obama and Biden. Then let's see whose economic positions and ideology this country really supports. If Limbaugh and Palin should win, that would be the one thing that might rehabilitate Bush and make Dubya look great by comparison.

A Double Defeat For Obama

A Double Defeat for Obama. He got not one single Republican vote in Congress, and he got a watered-down stimulus package containing many ineffective tax cuts and eliminating key infra-structure spending programs designed to put people back to work. It's time for Obama to stop paying so much attention to the GOP whose discredited economic ideas have been repudiated in two consecutive elections. Obama's futile "post-partisanship" has merely allowed Republicans to weaken the effectiveness of the stimulus bill and has not produced a single favorable GOP vote for this diluted package.

Dittoheads -- Rush's Main Victims

They call themselves "Dittoheads". H. L. Mencken called them "The Great Unwashed". Howard Dean called them "guys who drive pick-up trucks adorned with Confederate flags and carry guns. They are also known as "Low Information Voters".

However, whatever they may be called, they are Rush Limbaugh's Number One Target and his Principal Victims. Every day, Rush Limbaugh Brain-washes The Great Unwashed. When Rush rails against unions, and rants against minimum wages, maximum hours and better working conditions, these low-wage, low-earning listeners are his victims. He convinces them to vote against their own best economic interests by flaunting wedge issues -- social issues -- Guns, Gays and God. Divide and Conquer. Us Against Them. He waves red flags in front of their faces and turns them into rampaging, brain-dead bulls.

Rush is America's Pied Piper leading his army of unthinking rats into the river to drown.

Rush Limbaugh -- Domestic Terrorist

Rush Limbaugh is a domestic terrorist. Al Quaida killed a mere 3,000
Americans in its 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center.
Conservatives, and their misbegotten economic ideas, have wrecked
America's entire economy and have brought capitalism to the brink of
extinction. Socialism would not even exist as a concept if not for
the periodic crashes of capitalism over the past 200 years.

Not content with virtually destroying the US economy during the Bush
years, Conservatives like Limbaugh are now attacking ferociously
anyone who is trying to save this economy. Their real goal is to put
more wealth into the hands of the wealthiest. That can clearly be
seen by the Bush Administration's elimination of estate taxes and by
its huge, disproportionate income tax cuts for the wealthiest
Americans. As President Obama has said, our economy cannot prosper if our tax laws are designed to help only the most prosperous among us.

Of course, Limbaugh wants Obama to fail. He wants government back in control of Conservatives so they can continue to plunder the treasury for the benefit for the few fat cats at the top. As FDR said in the 1930's, there are "malefactors of great wealth" and, today, we have a Right-Wing media which is the propaganda tool and mouthpiece of today's "malefactors of great wealth". Foremost among these mouthpieces and tools is Rush Limbaugh. Rush is indeed a domestic terrorist. His ideas will destroy America and, en route to that goal, he will do his best to slime, smear and destroy anyone who has even a snowball's chance in Hell of saving our country.

Once we recognize that Rush is a domestic terrorist out to destroy
America, then every single thing he says makes perfect sense.
His words have the twisted logic of an Al Quaida spokesman operating
in our midst.

Conservative Dumps

For the past eight years, Conservatives have crapped all over this country. Now, they are taking dumps on the American patriots who are trying to clean up their stinking mess. Let's keep Guantanamo open as a place to which we can ship all American conservatives. They are our real domestic terrorists.

Bravo, Barack

Being elected president as a black man is the least of Obama's achievements. Far more important are that he personifies the victory of brains and intelligence over ignorance, and that he overcame the pervasive Right-Wing Swift-Boating exemplified by the William Ayres, Reverend Wright, Tony Retzko, and "Palling Around With Terrorist" smears. It's as though a light bulb suddenly went on in the minds of the American population, and everybody smartened up. Of course, the Right-Wing hyenas are already braying in the very first days of the Obama presidency. Right-wingers never met a smear they didn't like. Now that their hands have been pushed out of the cookie jar, the Bushies and Cheneyists are terribly upset that they won't have four more years to continue stealing the country blind. They are complaining about socialism. But no one has ever done more than they have to speed the destruction of capitalism.

CON-servatives are lying Un-American traitors. CON-servatives have hijacked and disfigured traditional American Conservatism in the same way that Islamic Fascists have deranged and deformed Islam. CON-seratives are the Islamic Fascists of the American Conservative movement.

By CON-servatives, I mean Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Monica Crowley and the rest of their lying hate-spewing ilk. They are Brain-Washing the Brain-Dead. H. L. Mencken called the huge mass of America's poor, under-educated citizens The Great Unwashed. CON-servative media flacks have been washing the Great Unwashed -- Brain-Washing them.

They try to convince the Great Unwashed to vote against their own best interests by waving red flags of hatred and division at them, like waving red flags in front of rampaging bulls.

Letter to my 3 year old niece Emma in response to her Thank You note for my birthday present on her 3rd birthday

Dear Emma:

Allow me to express my sincere gratitude and fondest circumperambulations for your kind note of January 12th, to wit, as it were, under the circumstances, with the best of intentions and the highest of possibilities, all things considered, as we gaze at clouds from both sides now, from up and down and yet, somehow, we really don't know clouds at all.

Nonetheless, and despite the countervailing cloud structures and wind patterns currently forming in the cumulus-nimbus atmosphere, even as we speak, remarkably enough, and, generally speaking (and, if you've ever heard General Lee speaking as often as I have, well, enough said -- and that applies to you, too, General Lee) -- nonetheless, and, I might add, all-the-more, apparently ("Apparent Lee" is General Lee's third cousin twice removed -- once for disorderly conduct -- and twice for inbreeding -- so much for Kissin' Cousins) -- there is one inescapable conclusion that no one can possibly deny -- unless they were in a state of Denial (which lies half-way between the states of New Guinea and Australia, in sort of a half-way house in the sea).

All that having been said, there is only one possible conclusion to bring this letter to -- and the sooner the better. Don't you regret having begun this two-way pen-pal correspondence?

Don't you wish you could take back your note? I thought so.

But, before you do, allow me to wish you an exceptionally Fond and Happy Martin Luther King Day, and Inauguration Day, and Bobby's Birthday, and any other relevant January festivities that may come to mind. Have a lovely wintry month, and try to stay warm.

Minnesota Recount Judge Edward Cleary Blasts Wall Street Journal Editorial

Right on, Judge Cleary. Beautifully said. Not "meek" at all, not even by New York standards. Clearly, the Wall Street Journal is biased towards Republicans. The Minnesota Canvassing Board did a superb job of counting the votes, as could be seen by anyone watching the Board's proceedings on the Internet. The problem is that the Wall Street Journal and the GOP have become so used to having elections stolen by Republicans -- Ohio ('04) and Florida ('00) -- that they can't handle an honest recount -- where the Democrat usually wins. As recent history shows, when votes are counted honestly (Minnesota '08), the Democrat wins; and when votes are not counted (Florida '00), the Republican wins. In 2000, Bush was appointed president by a 5 to 4 vote. The Wall Street Journal clearly prefers that system where "activist judges" appoint the winner, and the votes of the people don't count -- so why bother counting them?

Senate GOP Threatens to Filibuster The Seating of Al Franken

Let us hope the Republicans filibuster Al Franken. Let's hope they filibuster against him around the clock -- 24/7 -- and that two or three Repubs die of heart attacks during the process. That would give the Democrats a filibuster-proof majority, whether or not Al Franken is seated. The Dems could then set about doing the work of the people, repairing the monumental damage the GOP has done to this country over the past eight years. And the GOP could repair to the dust-bin of history, along with the Whig Party, where it belongs.

FDR's Landslide of 1936 Vs. Right-Wing Lies of 2009

If in fact FDR's New Deal policies prolonged the Great Depression, and the economy did not improve until we entered World War II, then why in 1936 was Roosevelt re-elected by the greatest landslide in American history (up till then) -- carrying 46 of the 48 states? 1936 was the year when the expression was coined "As goes Maine, so goes New Hampshire" -- these were the only two states carried that year by the Republican candidate, Alf Landon. The overwhelming FDR landslide of 1936 is overwhelming proof in itself that today's Right-Wingers are lying, once again, when they claim that FDR's economic policies prolonged the Great Depression.
