US Economy Soars -- No Thanks to the "Party of No"

U.S. Economy Soars in Fourth Quarter of 2009

By Neil Irwin
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, January 29, 2010:

"The U.S. economy roared ahead in the final months of 2009, growing at its fastest rate in six years, as corporate America stopped slashing its inventories and again started to invest for the future.

Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of economic activity, rose at a 5.7 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter, the Commerce Department said Friday. That is the highest pace of growth since 2003, and it constitutes strong proof that the recession reached its end earlier in 2009. It was also a surprisingly positive result, well above the 4.6 percent rate of GDP growth forecasters had expected."

Oh it's another bleak day for the cons, as they have once again shown how wrong they are about everything.

Cons, look at the bright side, maybe with Obama at the helm, you will get a pay raise this new decade. Maybe this decade will be another Clinton decade.

Well this outta kill any progress (if any---most economists that I have listened to have warned not to be too eager yet)
Yet you fail to see the reality...
Obama pitched a spending freeze while also advocating for cap and trade, high speed rails, government healthcare and practically free college---all at the tax payers expense.
Are you guys kidding me? Where is the money coming from to pay for all of this? We are already unable to pay for the crap that we have right now.
Oh and we are going to double our exports----of WHAT? Have you given that any thought? What the Hell are we making that the world wants so badly that they will take more---except our jobs!

More lies from the Left (how do you guys sleep at night?)
Obama promised and promises, "no lobbyists" But this is strange...

*Eric Holder, attorney general nominee, was registered to lobby until 2004 on behalf of clients including Global Crossing, a bankrupt telecommunications firm [now confirmed].

*Tom Vilsack, secretary of agriculture nominee, was registered to lobby as recently as LAST YEAR on behalf of the National Education Association.

*William Lynn, deputy defense secretary nominee, was registered to lobby as recently as LAST YEAR for defense contractor Raytheon, where he was a top executive.

*William Corr, deputy health and human services secretary nominee, was registered to lobby until LAST YEAR for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, a non-profit that pushes to limit tobacco use.

*David Hayes, deputy interior secretary nominee, was registered to lobby until 2006 for clients, including the regional utility San Diego Gas & Electric.

*Mark Patterson, chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, was registered to lobby as recently as LAST YEAR for financial giant GOLDMAN SACHS.

*Ron Klain, chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, was registered to lobby until 2005 for clients, including the Coalition for Asbestos Resolution, U.S. Airways, Airborne Express and drug-maker ImClone.

*Mona Sutphen, deputy White House chief of staff, was registered to lobby for clients, including Angliss International in 2003.

*Melody Barnes, domestic policy council director, lobbied in 2003 and 2004 for liberal advocacy groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the American Constitution Society and the Center for Reproductive Rights.

*Cecilia Munoz, White House director of intergovernmental affairs, was a lobbyist as recently as LAST YEAR for the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group.

*Patrick Gaspard, White House political affairs director, was a lobbyist for the Service Employees International Union. (SEIU)

*Michael Strautmanis, chief of staff to the president’s assistant for intergovernmental relations, lobbied for the American Association of Justice from 2001 until 2005.

Now let me think...what happened last year? Oh, I almost forgot. Obama was elected President LAST YEAR.

And those big bad guys, Goldman Sachs? Who do you think has been appointed to the panel to over see the banking industry---about 12 former employees of Goldman Sachs! WOW. That's amazing...

Why did Obama put health insurance above the economy?

"Why did Obama put health insurance above the economy?"---Brandon

Because he has an AGENDA. He doesn't care if he gets a second term as long as he fulfills his agenda. He isn't stupid, he is doing what he wants to do---to fundamentally change the USA. As promised.

What difference does that make? They're both important.

Actually, Obama did put the economy first -- with his bank bailout and stimulus packages. The Republicans stopped him from spending as much money as he needed to do in order to complete the job, which is why the economy is not yet fully out of the wilderness.

However, Obama will finish the job, and the economy will fully recover -- No Thanks to the Republicans. Or, should I say, over the dead bodies of the Republicans.

Obama does have an agenda -- to keep our country safe and strong. That's my agenda, too.
