Conservatives Mock The Uninsured

Of course, Conservatives are dumber and have lower IQ's than liberals. It doesn't take an extensive scientific study to prove this point. It's simple common sense.

How can anyone with half a brain tolerate the kind of balderdash that spews from the mouths of "Conservative" commentators and spokespersons every day ad nauseum. For example:

From Media Matters For America -- February 26, 2010:

"Conservatives Mock The Uninsured:

For the Conservative perspective on the country's health care problems, look no further than Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Since the beginning of time, politicians have used personal anecdotes to accentuate policy points, and the bipartisan health care summit was no different. But conservatives went out of their way to respond to the summit by mocking the uninsured -- specifically, remarks from Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY), who told the story of a woman without health insurance who "had no denture. She wore her dead sister's teeth."

Multi-millionaire Limbaugh, who has claimed "there is no health care crisis," responded to Slaughter by asking, "Isn't that why they make applesauce?"

LIMBAUGH: You know I'm getting so many people -- this Louise Slaughter comment on the dentures? I'm getting so many people -- this is big. I mean, that gets a one-time mention for a laugh, but there are people out there that think this is huge because it's so stupid. I mean, for example, well, what's wrong with using a dead person's teeth? Aren't the Democrats big into recycling? Save the planet? And so what? So if you don't have any teeth, so what? What's applesauce for? Isn't that why they make applesauce?

Multi-millionaire Glenn Beck similarly stated, "I've read the Constitution ... I didn't see that you had a right to teeth." One of Beck's co-hosts responded to the anecdote by talking in a baby's voice: "I have no health care, Mr. Pwesident, and I have no feet and no tonsils because doctors took 'em out."

Conservative attitudes to the health care crisis perhaps can perhaps best be summed up in Limbaugh's advice to a caller who couldn't afford the $6,000 cost to treat his broken wrist: "Well, you shouldn't have broken your wrist."

Media Matters' John Santore wrote: "Politics aside, the real question is this: Why do ordinary Americans continue to listen to Conservatives who don't even pretend to care about the senseless indignities and horrors experienced by countless citizens of this country?"

The answer to Mr. Santore's question is simple: "Because so many ordinary Americans are too damn dumb."

The difference between liberals and conservatives is that conservative TV hosts talk shit while liberal politicians are the ones running their mounths and bashing their own people they are suppose to be representing. I guess you keep forgetting about that?

Whats the major difference between trickle down vs. stimulus? Why do you favor stimulus while condeming trickle down?

RayGun said...

BB, you toad, trickle down helps a select few ie; the many are allowed to build yachts for the few, where stimulus helps the many through jobs, which in turn creates demand and more jobs.

RayGun said...

BB, where is w's trickle down? The middle class lost ground during w's rein. Do you cons just spout nonsense and expect no one to ever call you on it?

At least with stimulus, we have nice shiny new roads and bridges to show for it.

RayGun said...

Seems to me you cons would jump the con ship and join the liberals. After all, a 30 point jump in IQ, sounds like a bargain, just for changing parties.

Casey said...

The stimulus was a miserable failure. Nothing long term in the way of jobs, and we still have major job losses. You guys in Washington state got a new road/bridge.
You are in the minority if you believe that the stimulus worked.

BB and other crazy cons, isn't your boy Beck a big gold proponent? And you cons are so obsessed with history, why not buy some history? I have a few hundred Napoleons, some with 1700 dates, that I bought for nearly the price of the gold content. Lots of 20 dollar double eagles also. I get to fondle the Napoleans but not the others, because the others are uncirculated. And safety deposit boxes are cheap.

Beck and all cons have a big beak and are just a heartless herd.

Animals have more feelings than cons.

RayGun said...

I think it's an intelligence factor. Beck barely graduated HS, from what I hear, Limbaugh, Im not sure. But what we certainly know as a fact, according to a huge recent study, cons are just not that smart period.

You really are simple! Your trying to draw a line between the two that doesnt exist. Did Obama write checks to millions of workers collecting stimulus money for the work they did, NO!!! Obama wrote checks to their employers hoping that it would trickle down to the employees. So explain to me how stimulus is better than tax cuts for the wealthy. Dont forget the wealthy are the one employing American!

I have difficulties in understanding the CONS. ;)

The hospital bills the insurance co's for patients' treatments.

The insurance co's often due to staff shortage approve any payment to the hospitals under $100K.

Now here are some examples what hospitals charge for common items.

1 Tylenol: $140.00
(In the store: 1 BOTTLE of 100 Tylenol $10.00?

$1K for a toothbrush (YES)

$53.00 for a pair of disposable gloves.
(In the store: $0.24 a pair)

Hospitals say that they have to recoup the money for UNINSURED people who got treatment.

Therefore, the above means that the hospitals are passing the buck to the health insurance co's who in turn pass the buck to their clients by charging exorbitant fees.

Everybody who has health care insurance is paying for the uninsured.

The proposed health care bill will ensure an additional 30 million people.

If all these 30 million uninsured get insurance, the hospitals don't have to charge those ridiculous fees for Tylenol etc. and therefore the health insurance premiums SHOULD lower because more people would pay into health care insurance.

Why do CONS do not understand the above? Beats me. It's just common cents/sense huh?

Guess where I got some of the above info from?

RayGun said...

I dont get cons either. Here is more interesting info:

"In 2009, US total health care costs increased to 17.3 percent of GDP, with escalating premiums eating.."

"But you can reach that conclusion only by ignoring how the rest of the club of affluent countries manages to insure everyone for 9 or 10 percent of GDP, and have a healthier and longer-lived population, to boot. They do it, of course, through universal, socialized insurance. "

So they get better results with half the cost.

"Despite paeans to diversity, the Republican Party clearly does not want a black man -- or any minority candidate -- in the Senate, leading conservative blogger Erick Erickson wrote Wednesday.

"It is starting to get really disgusting," Erickson, the editor-in-chief of the right-wing site RedState wrote. "First, the GOP said it needed diversity and chose the orange Charlie Crist over the Latino, Marco Rubio. Then the GOP said it needed to do better outreach in the black community, so it ignored Michael Williams in Texas and tried to find a rich white guy to run for the Senate. Now that Kay Bailey Hutchison has lost the Texas primary to Rick Perry without even making it into a runoff, the Washington, D.C. Republicans are scared to death a black man might actually get appointed to the Senate as a Republican."

Even South Carolina GOP Sen. Jim DeMint supports Michael Williams, Erickson noted. "This is really sick," he wrote.

Though Erickson said in a postscript that he was using "a hefty dose of sarcasm," he went on to restate the same point. "The fact remains that the GOP preaches diversity all the time and when presented with an attractive Latino and black candidate, they pass on both because they are too conservative," he wrote."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”

Ego-driven = egoists, self-absorbed etc.

Offers of access and "tchochkes" = bribes.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year -- one every 12 minutes -- in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, Harvard Medical School researchers found in an analysis released on Thursday.

Health | Healthcare Reform

"We're losing more Americans every day because of inaction ... than drunk driving and homicide combined," Dr. David Himmelstein, a co-author of the study and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard, said in an interview with Reuters.

Overall, researchers said American adults age 64 and younger who lack health insurance have a 40 percent higher risk of death than those who have coverage.

The findings come amid a fierce debate over Democrats' efforts to reform the nation's $2.5 trillion U.S. healthcare industry by expanding coverage and reducing healthcare costs.

The Harvard study, funded by a federal research grant, was published in the online edition of the American Journal of Public Health. It was released by Physicians for a National Health Program, which favors government-backed or "single-payer" health insurance.

An similar study in 1993 found those without insurance had a 25 percent greater risk of death, according to the Harvard group. The Institute of Medicine later used that data in its 2002 estimate showing about 18,000 people a year died because they lacked coverage.

Part of the increased risk now is due to the growing ranks of the uninsured, Himmelstein said. Roughly 46.3 million people in the United States lacked coverage in 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau reported last week, up from 45.7 million in 2007.

Another factor is that there are fewer places for the uninsured to get good care. Public hospitals and clinics are shuttering or scaling back across the country in cities like New Orleans, Detroit and others, he said.

Study co-author Dr. Steffie Woolhandler said the findings show that without proper care, uninsured people are more likely to die from complications associated with preventable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

The Harvard researchers analyzed data on about 9,000 patients tracked by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics through the year 2000. They excluded older Americans because those aged 65 or older are covered by the U.S. Medicare insurance program.

"For any doctor ... it's completely a no-brainer that people who can't get health care are going to die more from the kinds of things that health care is supposed to prevent," said Woolhandler, a professor of medicine at Harvard and a primary care physician in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

So my dear smart Brandon, where in the Constitution does it say that everyone has a right to a car. Under your government, does everyone have a right to government housing too?? Its not that conservatives have no feelings, that is left to the left, Mao/Stalin/Saddam Hussein/Castro/Khmer Rouge/Kim Jong il etc,

Intentional killing of large numbers of civilians, as a rule, for belonging to a particular social or ethnic group, occurred in the Soviet Union under Stalin, in the People's Republic of China under Mao, and in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, and on a smaller scale in some other countries that declared adherence to a communist doctrine. These killings, that took place mostly during civil wars, mass elimination of political opponents or counter-revolutionaries, mass terror campaigns, or land reforms may fit a definition of mass murder, democide, politicide, "classicide", "crimes against humanity", or loosely defined genocide.

If you dont start thinking, this is wjhat you advocate through Big Government, that will "care for you!!!"
