Conservatives don't believe in the US Constitution.
What in the Constitution justified the decision in Bush v. Gore? Where in the Constitution does it say that the US Supreme Court has the power to stop the counting of the popular vote in a presidential election rather than leave the decision of how to count the votes up to the Supreme Court of each state? What kind of usurpation of power was that decision? It was a trampling of American democracy. It was a Fascist decision, pure and simple. In 2000, the American president was Appointed by a 5 to 4 decision of the Supreme Court, not elected by the votes of 200 million Americans. Talk about judicial activism. Talk about judicial restraint . Talk about the original intent of the framers and the Founding Fathers. Baloney!
Rather, let's talk about the hypocrisy of today's Conservatives who rail against judicial activism and dare to call themselves interpreters of the Constitution's original intent. What bald-faced liars and hypocrites these Conservatives are.
Where in the Constitution does it say that corporations are people and are entitled to the free speech protections accorded to individuals? Where in the Constitution does it say that the states and governments which created these artificial creatures -- corporations -- cannot also limit their right of free speech and the amount of money they can contribute to political campaigns? What in the original Constitution gives corporations the free speech protections accorded to living, breathing human beings?
Frankly, it seems to me that the only part of the original Constitution that Conservatives truly believe in -- heart and soul -- is the provision which says that Negroes are only 3/5 of a human being. When Conservatives say they are original strict constructionists, that seems to be the one part of the original Constitution that they most fully support.

Nice Post CJP.
The three-fifths compromise is found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution:
Hard to believe. But easy to see why cons by definition want to live in the past, are so obsessed by the constitution, and posses such animosity to our president.
I think cons should recommend that their doctors practice blood letting.
The 3/5ths law was not racist. It was for the exact opposite reason.
"The 3/5ths law was not racist. It was for the exact opposite reason."
We know that. But the point is, they had slaves back when your beloved fathers made the constitution so quit quoting it like some infallible bible.
Times change, except in the con world.
If you know that, then why are you talking as though it was a racist policy? Not all of the founding fathers owned slaves, or wanted slavery to continue.
Are you saying that the US Constitution is outdated and should be changed or disregarded? The document that has afforded you all of the freedoms that you enjoy is outdated?
"The document that has afforded you all of the freedoms that you enjoy is outdated? "
The original one is certainly outdated. The founding fathers were far from perfect in the documents creation. Do you think the original document was even close to perfect Case sweetums?
Yes, I actually do. This has given us the freedoms that people of other countries have envied since it's inception.
Can you name a better form of government, RG?
RG: "Do you think the original document was even close to perfect Case sweetums?"
Case: "Yes, I actually do. This has given us the freedoms"
Well Case, why has it been amended so many times? Why didn't women, according to that document, not have the freedom to vote until around 1920? You cons sure sling the word freedom around with little regard to ... the truth?
When did the black people get the right to vote?
In 1870 right?
So why was this right denied until 1964!!!!!!! Klansman etc....
Real freedom for all that didn't come until 1964 eh?
How about the other "freedoms" that WASPs enjoy but not others?
Don't think for a moment that other countries admire your socalled freedom.
Only 3rd world countries do.
We know better that there doesn't exist any real "freedom" in the USA.
Brainwashed people who don't realize that they're being conned by the elite to believe that they have freedom.
A2, I am trying to refrain from calling the cons dumb, but if the shoe fits...
"Rather, let's talk about the hypocrisy of today's Conservatives who rail against judicial activism and dare to call themselves interpreters of the Constitution's original intent. What bald-faced liars and hypocrites these Conservatives are."

The reason conservatives are better than you simple minded liberals is because we condem our own for going against America. Liberals are still supporting their president even though he is going against what Americans what. Liberals are arrogant ass holes who believe government knows best. What a joke, they cant even balance a check book, let alone run a country.
"How about the other "freedoms" that WASPs enjoy but not others?"---Anon2
OMG. I have to ask...What might those be, Anon2? And when did YOUR countries ex-slaves get the right to vote?
You are right. There were individual states that used tactics to deny voting rights to African Americans. However the
15th Ammendment to the Constitution DID grant the right to vote to African American men.
Now for the REALLY offensive statement:
"We know better that there doesn't exist any real "freedom" in the USA."---Anon2
Do you have more freedom in your country? In what way do we not have freedom in this country. And try not to DRIP with so much hatred when you answer. I am beginning to think you are a raving lunatic.
Brandon: They are just sore losers. And you are right. The MOST disgusting trait is to live in this country, make a "comfortable living" in this country, and run the country down. Anon2 is just plain weird, so she doesn't count. She is just a hateful old woman...The upside is that she is not a citizen in this country so her views are irrelevant. Mostly I just engage her for entertainment
oops! Looks like Anon2 did another one of her hit and run tricks.
But I figured her out. She is SO JEALOUS of this country that she just has to run it down. She is obviously obsessed with America. Funny, I don't feel the need to get onto a Canadian Blogsite and critize her country...Why is she so fixated on the USA?
Caseyboy, you certainly are not reading me correctly.
I definitely am not jealous of the USA. I live here because I CHOSE Canada over the USA.
Guess you must have missed my post in which I said that I don't like CONS regardless in which country they reside.
I love American politics because one can compare it with a circus.
You are too much brainwashed to have any debate/conversation with.
"You are too much brainwashed..."
There is truth in what A2 says.
All cons are brainwashed and are ushering in communism.
Anon2 the day that you have an honest debate...You are the clairvoyant genius hippie queen of the hit and run!
You ARE jealous of the USA. You are fixated and obsessed.
You make me laugh.
JHC, lighten up Case.
A2 ignore the hormonal one. :-)
Uh oh, I feel the dark storm clouds approaching.
Caseyboy said...
"You make me laugh."
ROFLMAO
Great that you enjoy my writing!! :)
I not only enjoy your writing, Anon2, I am mystified by your thought process.
You are able to convey your hate so well in your posts. You literally DRIP with it.
So, I am hormonal RG? Typical male.
"So, I am hormonal RG? Typical male."
Yes, we are all driven by chemicals, whether we admit it or not.
Crazy cons, it must sadden you to now know that you are communists. Are you depressed?
"The Crucible is a 1953 play by Arthur Miller (1915-2005). It is a dramatization of the Salem witchcraft trials that took place in Province of Massachusetts Bay during 1692 and 1693. Miller wrote the play as an allegory to McCarthyism,[1] when the US government blacklisted accused communists. "
Hey crazy cons, maybe you should watch and report back. Do you get allegories? You cons get so little...
Hey, Arthur Miller married Marilyn Monroe. Beauty and the wordly beast.

"The original one is certainly outdated. The founding fathers were far from perfect in the documents creation. Do you think the original document was even close to perfect Case sweetums?"
-Raygun
The process they created was petty close to being perfect, but the founding fathers knew it wasnt perfect and that is why they have the amendment process.
"but the founding fathers knew it wasnt perfect "
Yeah, they sound like progressives to me. Live and learn. Not live and keep doing the same thing whether it works or not.
Sure seems odd, the Fathers didn't think men and women and blacks were all equal. They don't sound like they very even close to "perfect".
Oh, I forgot Indians also.
Yeah a perfect document for white males. They did have the common sense to keep God mostly out of it. The founding Fathers, kept the Heavenly Father mostly out of the constitution. I applaud them on that.
Funny, how cons, aka commies, are the ironical champions of freedom, when all their Fathers condoned slavery. Amazing.
"but the founding fathers knew it wasnt perfect "
Yeah, they sound like progressives to me. Live and learn. Not live and keep doing the same thing whether it works or not."
-Raygun
Progressives by definition do sound very smart, but the problem is when you talk to a progressive they are nothing more than liberals who are ashamed to call themselves liberal.
Raygun, their are so many lessons you could learn from history but your to narrow minded to pay attention to any of it.
"you could learn from history"
Bb, you cons seem to hold the past up as a perfect blueprint for the future. And seem to hold our founding fathers as these perfect all wise, all seeing, leaders.
And seems to me you cons look at that trees of history, and not the forest. As the real reason for communism, fascism, socialism, was due to people rising up against great disparity of wealth. The very same disparity you cons continue to advocate through such tax cuts for the ultra rich, deregulation of business etc. Those policies are just a way to empower a few and enslave the many. And when the ratio of rich to poor swings too far towards the rich, we have revolt in the form of communism, fascism etc.
Maybe you cons pay too much attention to history, and concentrate too much on histories trees, and not enough on histories forest?
"Progressives by definition do sound very smart"
Yes BB, its a wonderful idea. Live and learn. That is what universal health care is all about. We learned that for profit health care does not work very well. BB if universal health care sucked so bad, why haven't any of the countries, virtually every country out there, gone back to for profit health care?
Cons, a few things work better under government control. Health care is another example.
"Bb, you cons seem to hold the past up as a perfect blueprint for the future. And seem to hold our founding fathers as these perfect all wise, all seeing, leaders.

-Raygun
Conservatives believe that the structure for government created by our founding fathers was near perfect. As for the laws we have created since then, they will be changing forever. Times change and so will our laws. Our government should always have restraints on them because we put our trust in the people not the government like you liberals do.
Communism is control from government not the people and yet you liberals keep pushing for more power for government and less power in the hands of the people. WHY???
"Yes BB, its a wonderful idea. Live and learn. That is what universal health care is all about. We learned that for profit health care does not work very well. Once you go to universal health care there is no going back. It is alot harder to rebuild a market once the government has destroyed it.
Wouldnt a progressive look at medicare and medicaide and learn from what failure those programs are? Hospitals lose money when they take in people covered by those programs. The cost is passed on to people on private insurance and thus raises the costs on you and I. Live and learn would be nice if only you could learn anything!
"Once you go to universal health care there is no going back. It is alot harder to rebuild a market once the government has destroyed it."
Which is it BB, "no going back", or "alot harder to rebuild"?
What about the post office and UPS and Fed Express, etc?
What about all public schools, and now public and pay for schools?
Sounds like going back to me.
JHC, BB, can't go back once you institute universal care. Just more demagoguery from the cons.
God BB, according to the con trickle down theory, we should all be rolling in dollars from w's tax cuts for the rich. Why don't we just cut taxes to 0? Oh wait, we have to pay for the cons precious military and police. Ok lets cut all taxes except for those two.
"And it seems to me you cons look at that trees of history, and not the forest. As the real reason for communism, fascism, socialism, was due to people rising up against great disparity of wealth. Oh, Ray Gun, you are so on-target and so amazing.
Right on, my Main Man. You are telling it exactly as it is.
The Cons learn from history? You've gotta be kidding. Surely you jest.
And, as Santayana said, they are indeed "condemned to repeat it".
Unless the Libs and the Progressives stop them.
CJP
"Which is it BB, "no going back", or "alot harder to rebuild"?"
-Raygun
Your right! Its a alot harder to go back. How long do you think it would take for the public option to shut down almost every form of private health insurance? Then compare that to how long would it take to rebuild it once it fails.
"The Cons learn from history? You've gotta be kidding. Surely you jest."
They cherry pick history, just like they cherry pick the bible. Hmmmmm...

Isnt the military a prime example of what liberals stand for? Spend lots and lots of money to employ people with tax dollars.
""The Cons learn from history? You've gotta be kidding. Surely you jest."

-Raygun
Liberals are heading this country down the same roads our founding fathers wanted us to stay away from. Why did the common people revolt against their government?
High taxes
Bad economy
Unfair treatment
How many revolts were caused by low taxes and less government waste?
Wouldnt a progressive look at medicare and medicaide and learn from what failure those programs are? Hospitals lose money when they take in people covered by those programs. Its the supreme law of the land, when are you libs going to figure that out?
"Its the supreme law of the land, when are you libs going to figure that out? "
Yes, so lets amend it if you insist.
Quit quoting the fore fathers as if they are Gods chosen. The original constitution was far, far, far from perfect. Let's progress, as our fore fathers intended.
""Its the supreme law of the land, when are you libs going to figure that out? "

I dont have any problem with amending the constitution as long as it what the people want. I dont want government side steping the constitution, the liberal way.

BB, you are drunk with misinformation. Go Faux News.
BB, you nut (sorry for the name calling), for profit works for most things. Health care is not one of those things.
Sweet Case, you watching the Academy Awards?

What misinformation do I have??? I know that providence hospitals lose money every time a medicare patient walks in their doors for treatment. I guess you would rather cover your ears and pretend like Obama isnt misleading you!
If everyone is on government run health insurance, who is going to make up the losses the hospitals have?
How many doctors are we going to have when they stop getting paid the big bucks for going to school for 10+ yrs?
Source: Hospital board of directors
Raygun
Why do you think everyone has the right to free health care?
"Unless the Libs and the Progressives stop them."---CJP
So there is a DIFFERENCE between libs and progressives? What is the difference in YOUR mind, CJP?
BB, we don't need to have medicine as a for profit industry. US medicine is not better than anyone else (in fact much worse than everyone else) and we have the only for profit, more or less, in the world.
Common BB common sense.
"BB, we don't need to have medicine as a for profit industry. US medicine is not better than anyone else (in fact much worse than everyone else) and we have the only for profit, more or less, in the world.
Common BB common sense."
-Raygun
If you going to cross that line, why not make everything in our economy not for profit???
If you were one of the best doctors in the world where would you want to practice medicine, the for profit U.S. or a non profit country?
"There is nothing less common, than common sense."
Common Raygun its common sence!
Ok, but how about at least a 2 tier system? If you can afford more and want more you can pay for it. But if you can't afford it, at least there should be basic care available.

Isnt that medicaide?
"Isnt that medicaide? "
Why aren't the cons crying like little girls, that we already have universal health insurance, if medicaid takes care of everyone? JHC.
"Why aren't the cons crying like little girls, that we already have universal health insurance, if medicaid takes care of everyone? JHC."
-Raygun
Medicaid is free for losers who dont want to pay their bills! So why do you want the public option? The poor are already covered, so why do we need the government to take over health insurance?
"The poor are already covered, so why do we need the government to take over health insurance?"
The poor are not already covered. Why else would there be 40 million without coverage?
Gov does not need to take over health insurance. Just provide an option to all, including me.
"The poor are not already covered. Why else would there be 40 million without coverage?"
-Raygun
That is because they are all uncovered until they get sick, then they apply for medicaid and now they are covered. So as long as none of those 40 million uninsured go to the hospital, the dems can keep using that number.
I just found out that the entitity that turns down the most heatlhcare claims is....Medicare!
The Medicare denial rate found in the study was, on a weighted average basis, roughly 1.7 times that of all of the private carriers combined (99,025 divided by 2,447,216 is 4.05%; 6.85% divided by 4.05% =1.69).
Read more: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2009/10/06/deny-guess-who-has-highest-medical-claim-rejection-rate#ixzz0hsvo5UyV
Let's just let the government take over all of our healthcare. It would be fantastic!

-Casey
Dont forget that their reimbursements dont even cover the costs of providing the care. Everyone with private insurance picks up the rest.
