From The Washington Post -- March 12, 2010:
Retail sales posted a surprising increase in February as consumers did not let major snowstorms stop them from storming the malls. The advance, the biggest since November, provided hope that the recovery from the Great Recession is gaining momentum.
The Commerce Department said retail sales rose 0.3 percent in February, surpassing expectations that sales would decline by 0.2 percent.
The overall gain was held back by a 2 percent fall in auto sales, reflecting in part the recall problems at Toyota. Excluding autos, sales rose 0.8 percent, far better than the 0.1 percent rise outside of autos that economists had forecast.

Really? Another 462,000 jobs lost last week. How do you have a recovery without JOBS?
Keep the Faith, Baby. Jobs are on the Way.
But how do you have Jobs with no Economy?
First things first.
Save the Whales first. The little fish will follow.
Wait a minute. No jobs, more foreclosures on the way. The next bubble to burst is commercial real estate.
Great little saying, CJP about the little fish and the whales, but you are basing your optimism on a slight increase in retail sales last month. We have record national debt, and inflation looming.
Where have you ever seen a recovery without jobs? Seriously. With more job losses, the economy will not recover. period. People need JOBS to be able to SPEND.
I have a cute little expression for ya: grasping at straws
:) All in fun CJP. Don't take it personally like RG did yesterday.
(he actually told me to Fuck off!)
Can you imagine? ME? And I'm so nice! :}
