An Arizona elementary school mural featuring the faces of kids who attend the school has been the subject of constant daytime drive-by racist screaming, from adults, as well as a radio talk-show campaign (by an actual city councilman, who has an AM talk-radio show) to remove the black student's face, and now the school principal has ordered the faces of the Latino and Black students to be changed to Caucasian skin.

What can I say about this? We are talking about a bunch of mentally deranged adults, who have terrorized an elementary school, for daring to paint a mural featuring the faces of black and Latino children -- actual black and Latino children who live in Arizona. And we're also talking about a group of adults who have decided to send a stirring message to their students and the world: when a bunch of mentally deranged adults -- and we are not talking about people who are particularly threatening, this is a bunch of utterly gutless mopes, yelling racial slurs from their cars, egged on by some pinhead city councilman cowering behind a radio microphone -- threaten a bunch of children, the best thing to do is to accede to their psychotic, racist "demands."
Seriously, educators of Prescott, Arizona, when some creep demands you whiten the faces of your own students on a mural, the correct response is to say, "No, we will not be doing anything of the sort."
This story really should be blasted, far and wide. You cable news producers need to get this story in the mix with a quickness. And let me be clear to you all: there are no "two sides to this story." This is not something you need to have a panel discussion about. CNN, I don't want to see you plumbing the depths of your counterintuition on your website, or lending credence to the notion that the gutless mopes in their cars, shrieking racial slurs at the images of children have an interesting point of view that we should "hear out" because of the need to be "balanced." This is your moment to decry, condemn, and brutalize these evil people.

Yes, there is racism in Canada, as there is crime, drug problems, dirty politicians, and all of the other social ills found in all other countries. If not, then you should not be wasting your time on this blog. You should be basking in the pure utopia that is Canada. You could be out chasing unicorns, finding pots of gold at the end of rainbows, and picking up cherries off of the streets that are paved with pure gold!
You have racism, Anon2. Just as you had slavery, problems with the French Canadian provences, problems with your native peoples, and all of the ugly stuff that goes along with all growing and developing nations throughout history.
Raciam is an ugly side of the human condition. Racism and Prejudice are found in all walks of life and in every society. That doesn't make it right, and perfection is something to strive for, but it will never be wiped out entirely.

Yes, we are in a hole and Obama is still digging. He just went a got a bigger shovel! He set down the 100 billion dollar shovel and picked up the trillion dollar one. That will only run this country farther into debt and hurt our economy!

We had Clinton, who did a great job, and his protege Gore. So who did a large percent of this countries populace vote for? Then he lied about a war, and is voted in again.
I am guessing none of our major problems ie, 9/11, both wars, the great recession, and the oil spill would of occurred if Gore had been in office those 8 years.
Strict regulation and an obsession with Al-Qaeda would have probably been enough to avoid all the problems just mentioned.

I have no problem with a guest worker program, but the current residents have to be vetted and sorted out. In Az you have a bunch of drug dealers, gang members, and criminals that are here illegally, and we have to know who's who.

Honestly, I don't think that we differ THAT MUCH on the issues. We need to get out of Iraq...We need to fight to WIN in Afganistan and get out, or if we are going to handle it the way it's been handled so far---we need to get out of Afganistan, too.
I don't want to continue to be the world's police force. I think Obama is a tool and that he is extremely corrupt, and that's where we split the sheets--so to speak.

Think I am back to disagreeing about we can't afford more unemployment insurance. Seems to me, most are using the time to retrain themselves through college, exactly what this country needs. So it's money well spent.

The unemployment HAS to continue. That is one that we can't NOT fund. Can you imagine how many people would be homeless if the benefits stopped? I believe that most people WANT to work, but the jobs just aren't there. It isn't their fault.

No, they put that off until after the July 4th weekend, when they come back from their vacations. It passed in Congress. Now we have the Senate. That is just something that has to go through. Better that than alot of the other crap that they fund! Like I said, it isn't like these people are just sitting around ENJOYING the tons of money that they get from unemployment! You can't survive on unemployment, but it helps. It will be a disaster if they don't pass it.
BTW---what is "pond time"? Do you actually have a pond on your property?
