"When the Senate returns from recess next week, we're going to work on -- and, I hope, pass -- a bill providing incentives for small business owners and investors. It includes a lending fund to help entrepreneurs access the capital they need to survive and expand, as well as tax credits to encourage growth and hiring.
The bill, which is fully paid for, would go a long way towards unlocking the doors for small businesses in Minnesota and across America. If I had my way, we'd do a lot more. I want to invest in job training to build a workforce that can take on the 21st century jobs that are available and infrastructure to put Americans back to work rebuilding our country."
These types of programs, which government can do, and which Democrats support and Repubicans oppose, make far more sense for the economic strength and well-being of this country than simply providing more and ever-increasing tax cuts for the wealthiest. Tax cuts for the rich are only favored by the wealthiest Americans and their Tea Party dupes. There is nothing "Conservative" about wrecking our economy.

Excellent intentions and really hope that he gets his wishes.
Western Europe has been preparing their students for the workplace since the fifties, even large companies had/have their own schools for learning/training after the compulsory schooling. The giant Philips Electronics is a perfect example. It's way ahead of North America.
The USA has a lot to catch up if it is to survive.
AHHHKKK! You drive me crazy! Philips electronics is an AMERICAN COMPANY! That took me 30 seconds to look up.

Philips built their first 700 homes for their employees and named it Philipsdorp. Many more followed.
Had their own doctors, sports, grocery stores, a hefty employee discount when purchasing their goods at the personnel store, profit sharing, etc. etc. PSV, Philips Sports Vereniging is a soccer team that has its own soccer field/building, museums, theater. The list goes on.
You are right. Americans have a lot to learn. But millions of Americans will never learn a thing. Too bad.

It's very, very sad to block a country (by narrow minded selfish CONS) from going forward and that instant profits without looking at the future is the general outlook by them.
Absolutely, A2. Too many Americans are too dumb and blind to realize that Obama's proposals to spend money for infra-structure, research and technological advances are the way to move this country forward. Too many poor fools are fighting Obama because of the blizzard of misinformation being rained down on their heads by the Right-Wing Propaganda machine, but Obama's proposals are clearly the best way for this country to move ahead.
Actually we are BOTH right. Phillips Electronics of North America is an American Company. Royal Phillips Electronics is the Dutch counter-part.
So...You actually LOOKED something up, and defended yourself? You should do that more often. THAT'S BEEN MY POINT!
What did you do for Phillips, Anon2? Pack the lightbulbs into the containers? or did you stick your fingers in light sockets to look for electricity?
One more thing...If I am wrong about something, I can admit it. I don't run away and ignore you. You should try it sometime. As I said, I don't know everything. But YOU pretend that YOU do!
I went back and re-read the article and I see that I jumped the gun on my assumption. I read only about the American Arm of Phillips---and I assumed that it was only American because their electronics SUCK!
Sooo...good for you, Anon2! You were right about something! it only took, what? 8 months???
CJP it's frustrating to see how a country is not learning from it's history and refuses to leave a good legacy to their future generations by such shortsightedness.
While traveling to Europe I had a conversation with an American CEO who told me that they don't care about the mistakes they make. He said, it's up to the next generation(s) to correct what "we" do/did wrong.
And THAT is a CEO who gets paid 500 times more than an employee.
Additionally, there he is - in saying the above he was actually admitting he doesn't care about his country!!
What an attitude and those are the "leaders" of the pack.
Caseybutch - I am older than you, worked and lived in several countries so my experience is way ahead of yours.
As I told your previously, I just can't be bothered to read or react to your rants because they're so unrealistic and false and full of sh*te it would be a waste of my time. Additionally, you have tunnel vision which makes a debate impossible. There is no shred of evidence that you care about other people but yourself, typical CON.
I don't follow-up comments by email because I can't be bothered.
So far I haven't even seen one comment on this blog agreeing with your points and rants. WHY?
Satisfied caseybutch?

G.O.P. Leader Is Tightly Bound to Lobbyists
Excerpt:
"WASHINGTON — House Democrats were preparing late last year for the first floor vote on the financial regulatory overhaul when Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio and other Republican leaders summoned more than 100 industry lobbyists and conservative political activists to Capitol Hill for a private strategy session.
The bill’s passage in the House already seemed inevitable. But Mr. Boehner and his deputies told the Wall Street lobbyists and trade association leaders that by teaming up, they could still perhaps block its final passage or at least water it down.
“We need you to get out there and speak up against this,” Mr. Boehner said that December afternoon, according to three people familiar with his remarks, while also warning against cutting side deals with Democrats."

And there I thought that Ohio only grew potatoes that don't sprout. LOL
2nd Excerpt of the previous link, too juicy to waste.
"That sort of alliance — they won a few skirmishes, though they lost the war on the regulatory bill — is business as usual for Mr. Boehner, the House minority leader and would-be speaker if Republicans win the House in November. He maintains especially tight ties with a circle of lobbyists and former aides representing some of the nation’s biggest businesses, including Goldman Sachs, Google, Citigroup, R. J. Reynolds, MillerCoors and UPS.
They have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to his campaigns over the years, provided him rides on their corporate jets, socialized with him at luxury golf resorts and waterfront bashes and are now leading fund-raising efforts for his Boehner for Speaker campaign, which is soliciting checks of up to $37,800 each, the maximum allowed.
Some of the lobbyists readily acknowledge routinely seeking his office’s help — calling the congressman and his aides as often as several times a week — to advance their agenda in Washington. And in many cases, Mr. Boehner has helped them out."
Which side does he represent after reading this juicy article?????????? WE THE PEOPLE OR WE THE BUSINESSES????
Please, give me some examples of what is in this bill that you think are good things.
And Anon2, if I wanted to be on a blog where people thought the same way that I did, I would go to a Libertarian blog. No challenge in that. You don't like the challenge or the debate. I do.
