The New Republicans make Sarah Palin sound measured and reasonable.
They're wholly-owned by corporate special interests, they're spending a mountain of campaign cash from right-wing shadow groups, and they're unleashing a torrent of smear jobs to elect the most radical roster of candidates ever.
The Republicans want to undo everything the Democrats have done for the American people. They want to repeal health care reform, privatize Social Security, end Medicare as we know it, give tax cuts to billionaires, and preserve tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas.
You won't find any of that on bumper stickers, but the New Republicans have said clearly that's their agenda.

The sad part about the whole thing is that average American people are buying into the rhetoric. They don't really comprehend what conservatives plan to do, or the effects their plans will have for middle class America. Many conservatives are voting against their economic interest which hurts the rest of us who have some what of a basic understanding of whats going on. But from my experience there seems to be no reasoning with them.
You are so painfully correct, L. Harris. That is exactly why I started this Political Blog -- to try to talk some sense to these people.
I have also been volunteering as much time as I can to help our local Democratic candidates -- Governor, Senator, Congressman, etc., by rallying liberals and progressives to make sure they get to the polls in November.
Otherwise, our country may face the sharpest turn to the Right since 1946 when we moved away from the policies of FDR and Truman and reverted to "Business as Usual". At least then, the Republicans had some moderate leaders, not the Far Right Tea Party fanatics and Palinistas which the Billionaire Thugocracy is trying to foist upon our country today.
L. Harris, I hope you will keep on coming back and contributing your excellent thoughts to this Blog.
Will do!
