The Republican War Against America

Top 10 Worst Things about the Republicans' Immoral Budget

The Republican budget would:

1. Destroy 700,000 jobs, according to an independent economic analysis.

2. Zero out federal funding for National Public Radio and public television.
3. Cut $1.3 billion from community health centers—which will deprive more than 3 million low-income people of health care over the next few months.

4. Cut nearly a billion dollars in food and health care assistance to pregnant women, new moms, and children.

5. Kick more than 200,000 children out of pre-school by cutting funds for Head Start.

6. Force states to fire 65,000 teachers and aides, dramatically increasing class sizes, thanks to education cuts.

7. Cut some or all financial aid for 9.4 million low- and middle-income college students.

8. Slash $1.6 billion from the National Institutes of Health, a cut that experts say would "send shockwaves" through cancer research, likely result in cuts to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's research, and cause job losses.

9. End the only federal family planning program, including cutting all federal funding that goes to Planned Parenthood to support cancer screenings and other women's health care.

10. Send 10,000 low-income veterans into homelessness by cutting in half the number of veterans who get housing vouchers this year.

What a crock! Let's just pick a few apart today. First, financial aid is out of control. Why would you pay a student 150% of tuition? It is ok for a student to pay a little for themselves.
Second, what is the big deal about firing 65,000 teacher and/or aides? What is that, about .0001% of the staff in the USA?
What's sad is we haven't even scratched the surface of the cuts we need. Thanks to the dems we increased spending by about 800 billion each year. Why are you complaining about 60 billion in cuts?

Fascist move by Walker to satisfy the "Koch Bros" and their ilk. Only the dems support a democracy.

"Walker's Coup D'Etat

Governor Scott Walker and his Wisconsin senate Republicans have laid bare the motives for their coup d'etat. By severing the financial part of the bill (which couldn't be passed without absent Democrats) from the part eliminating the collective bargaining rights of public employees (which could be), and then doing the latter, Wisconsin Republicans have made it crystal clear that their goal has had nothing whatever to do with the state budget. It's been to bust the unions.

That's no surprise to most people who have watched this conflict from the start, but like any coup its ultimate outcome will depend on the public. If most citizens of Wisconsin are now convinced that Walker and his cohorts are extremists willing to go to any lengths for their big-business patrons (including the billionaire Koch brothers), those citizens will recall enough Republican senators to right this wrong.

But it's critically important at this stage that Walker's opponents maintain the self-discipline they have shown until this critical point. Walker would like nothing better than disorder to break out in Madison. Like the leader of any coup d'etat, he wants to show the public his strong-arm methods are made necessary by adversaries whose behavior can be characterized on the media as even more extreme.

Be measured. Stay cool. Know that we are a nation of laws, and those laws will prevail. The People's Party is growing across America -- and the actions of Scott Walker and his Republican colleagues are giving it even greater momentum. So are the actions of congressional Republicans who are using the threat of a government shutdown to strong-arm their way in Washington.

The American public may be divided over many things but we stand united behind our democratic process and the rule of law. And we reject coups in whatever form they occur."

Scott Walker is a cross-eyed Koch-sucker. He's one of the Kochroaches.

He's very deserving of the above titles.

What the followers of GOP, Teabaggers and Fix News don't understand is that their standard of living will be affected as well when unions are destroyed by the ones they voted for.

Brandon said...

Why do you believe he is trying to or will end up destroying the unions?
Why do you believe cutting STATE employee unions will lower the standard of living?

Anonymous said...

Because after the fall of state unions the private sector unions will collapse. Once those wages/benefits are lowered the non-union employees wages will fall as well. It's just a trend. Reagan fired the air controllers in the eighties. You probably were not even born.

GOP are Koch-suckers.

MARK MY WORDS and don't be so smug. Sooner than later YOU WILL be next.

Brandon said...

What in the heck would give you the idea private unions would fall? Lowering state workers pay would only benifit tax payers. Second, we are not even talking about killing the state unions. Just removing their strangle hold on tax payers!

Anonymous said...

Have you ever heard about the domino effect?

Once you pay the state workers less the private Kochroaches will want their share as well. And they will get it because they're working at it big time via the media. You won't see a penny and will end up a loser just because the 2% of the population just want it all.

The GOP is rife with egoists and avarice. Beats me how one can vote or support people and corporations who's only objective is to take all what it can get from the middle class and putting them in the poor house. There won't be any middle class left in a decade, not even the people who supported the GOP. So keep on dreaming boy.

The mission of the GOP is to serve their masters who are the Corporatists and the 2% of the population.

BTW the top 2% has the same wealth as 50% of all Americans combined. That's obscene.

What's crazy is your idea of growing government. That is were I lose most of my money. They take it and piss it away on people to lazy to help themselves. You did mention how the unions would fail. Do you any evidence to support you half brain theory on private unions failing if the state unions did? I see almost no connection.

CRISIS - CRISIS IN Wisconsin!! Blaming the state unions.. What a cheap trick and the ignorants are spooning it up like mad!!

Governor Walker of Wisconsin gave the rich a tax break which is more in $$ than the state government will get through cuts from the state unions.

Therefore, in essence, the money is being transferred from the middle class to the uber rich.

In reality therefore, Walker CREATED the so-called debt crisis by giving the uber-rich a tax break.

Takes only a pea brain to understand/comprehend the above. *rolling eyes*

You're always talking about *your* money. Time to think about widening your narrow minded view.

Don't even think that one day you will be one of the rich. The GOP is known to spoon feed that notion so that they will have their wannabees lined up to join them. The uber-rich is only a small circle that won't let anyone in.

You on your own with a hourly wage will never make it being rich unless you're someone as creative as Bill Gates. The rich will make sure of that. They will exploit anyone below their status.

Too bad that In the USA, wealth (as in money) is treasured as being successful.

One can be wealthy without a lot of money and many people in the USA do not understand that. Pity and sad.

Brandon said...

Your still overlooking my main point, they are not killing any union. Also, why are you so convinced I can't be rich? Most Americans are poor because they are stupid with the money they get. Stop being a drama queen and start thinking for yourself. Look around and see how the world really works.

Anonymous said...

You kill the bargaining power of the unions and ask for concessions.

That's the same as union busting.

I KNOW that you never will be rich.

1. You're an hourly worker.
Odds are overwhelmingly against you in getting rich because you're just a machinist.

The uber-rich earn yearly 500 times your wages.

2. You'll never be rich emotionally or spiritually. You have a way too small mind for that.

Keep on dreaming young man.

Zilch - nada - niente - nichts -

Is having 1-3 million dollar net worth rich?

Brandon said...

Why do you nut cling to your goverment and unions? They will never make you rich, they will only take from those who do what must be done to be wealthy.
Don't worry Anon I am sure you will do fine living off of social security!

The richer you are, the less taxes you pay. Offshore accounts, loopholes. Many co's do not pay any taxes at all or hardly any.

The middle class is being sucked dry through taxes yet the uber-rich don't pay their fair share.

1-2 million $$ is peanuts. I'm talking about the UBER-RICH and the Corporatists.

Brandon said...

Why do you attack the ubber rich? Bill Gates created an amazing company that changed the world. Shouldn't he be rewarded for that?

Brandon said...

Why don't you support a fair tax?

Truth-o-Meter Says: TRUE; Politifact confirms Michael Moore's Madison statement that Forbes 400 own more wealth than half of all American households

Top economists at NYU, UC-Berkeley, Paris School of Economics and even the Koch-funded Cato Institute all agree: Richest 400 have more than approximately 155 million Americans combined

P.S. Actually, they probably have more wealth than 60% of all Americans combined

Brandon said...

What is wrong with that? If you don't like it don't give them your money. Example don't buy windows.

The difference is this: State and Federsl Union wages are paid by us---the tax payer.
We are in debt up to our eyeballs. We will ALL have to make sacrifices to pay for the stupid irresponsible spending spree that our government officials took us on. All of the stupid entitlement programs have brought ours, as well as other countries to the brink of bankruptcy. It doesn't work.

"Reagan fired the air controllers in the eighties."--Anon2

Good case in point! You just made the case for Brandon. Thank you!
Tell me now how the standard of living was ruined for the air traffic controllers?
"$50,000 - $100,000/yr depending on experience. PLUS:
"Air traffic controllers also report receiving benefits that contribute to their overall compensation, including between 2.4 to 4.4 weeks of paid vacation and average annual bonuses of $2,000 to $4,500, reports Payscale.com.
